How it works
Solutions

Picture from set,
wherever it is needed.

One service, three ways to use it. All of them start with a compact transmitter on the camera and an internet uplink on location.

01

Live set feed

Camera or video-village picture in any browser with under a second of delay. No app and no account: a link and an access code.

02

Camera bridge

When the wireless link runs out, the internet takes over. A receiver unit at the far end hands the picture back as SDI, ready for a video village, a second unit or a playback system such as QTAKE.

03

Multi-camera

A and B cameras travel as separate feeds, so every department watches the angle it needs.

Use cases

Who watches.

The people who need to see the shot are rarely all standing at the monitor.

On-set departments

Hair, make-up and costume watch the frame on their own tablets. No viewer cap, no per-seat licence — as many devices as the set needs.

Agency & clients

Approve the frame from the office or another country, without flying a team to location.

Director & producers

Follow a second unit, a splinter crew or a location move while working somewhere else.

Script & sound

Script supervisor and sound mixer get the picture at their own cart, without a cable to the video village.

Remote locations

Desert, forest, a moving vehicle. If there is cellular coverage, there is a feed.

Post & VFX

Editors and supervisors see takes as they happen and flag problems before the unit wraps.

Technology

How it works.

Three steps between the camera and the viewer.

01 — Capture

Transmitter on the camera

A compact setfeed transmitter sits on the camera and takes its HDMI or SDI picture.

02 — Relay

Uplink to our relay

The transmitter sends the picture over 4G/5G or wired internet to a setfeed relay hosted in the EU.

03 — Watch

Browser or SDI

Viewers open the personal link from their e-mail on a phone, tablet or laptop — nothing to install. A receiver unit turns the same feed back into SDI for a video village.

  • Under a second of delayWebRTC playback keeps the picture close to real time on a healthy uplink.
  • Works on a modest uplinkA stable 1080p feed needs about 2–3 Mbit/s of upload.
  • Encrypted in transitHTTPS for the page, DTLS-SRTP for the picture.
  • Personal sign-in linksEvery viewer gets their own secure link by e-mail. Access is granted and revoked per person, not by a shared code.
  • SDI and RTSP outputReceiver unit for SDI monitors and video village, RTSP for QTAKE.
  • Nothing to install, no seat limitRuns in Safari, Chrome and Firefox on current devices. Any number of viewers per production.
Pricing

Priced per shoot.

Every production is different, so we quote per shooting day or per project. Tell us three things and you get a number back:

  • Shooting dates and number of days
  • How many cameras need a feed
  • Where you shoot and what internet is available there

Equipment, uplink and an operator on set can be included, or you bring your own transmitter and use the relay only.

About

Built on set,
by crew.

setfeed comes from a camera department in Riga, Latvia. We built it for our own shoots, when wireless video stopped at the edge of the location and the people who had to see the picture were somewhere else. It has been running on commercial and film sets since 2026.
